WINGS Seminar: Co-Habitation of Helicopters and Fixed Wing Aircraft
November 16, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
FreeBuilding on more than eighty years of safety driven aviation instruction, the Morey Airplane Company is expanding our knowledge course offerings. In addition to the private pilot and instrument courses, we now offer monthly seminars covering topics pertinent to all levels of pilot experience.
Helicopter pilots are required to “avoid the flow” of fixed wing traffic when operating at uncontrolled airports. That’s not as simple as it sounds and the pathway to avoiding an accident is grounded in compliance with traffic pattern rules and efficient communications. This presentation is oriented for both fixed and rotary wing pilots.
A variation of this presentation will be presented at the FAA’s 2020 International Rotorcraft Safety Conference in Fort Worth, TX.
The presentation format is a guided discussion and participation from the attendees is strongly encouraged
The presenter is a retired U.S. Army Aviator who currently serves as a medical helicopter pilot for a regional academic medical center.
Participants of this session can earn credit in the FAA WINGS program.
